The LEIE is published and updated monthly by HHS-OIG and is downloadable as a complete file plus monthly supplements. Hiring or paying an excluded person to provide items or services billable to a federal program can trigger civil monetary penalties and repayment. Because the list changes monthly, OIG guidance points toward monthly screening of employees, contractors, and vendors - which is why audit-ready pharmacies keep a dated screening record for every name.
